Technicolor Trauma

Technicolor Trauma explores the impact of generational trauma and methods for addressing and acknowledging it with heightened aesthetics as a means to self sooth anxiety, depression, and high levels of distress. Initially developed from imagery derived from EMDR sessions (Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, a mental health treatment for changing non-adaptive methods of thinking, feeling and behaving) the work explores the ability to build and create environments and spaces in which trauma is present yet not dominant. Technicolor Trauma is the most recent iteration of a decades long body of work (Exquisite Proof) that addresses themes of mental health, familial relationships, loss, grief and absence and exquisite moments found/fabricated in response.

This exhibition is presented as a series of large format inkjet prints and projected videos. 2023 - ongoing
